MICPA FOundation donates NOK 200.000  (20,000 Euros) to the Red Cross Norway’s international relief efforts to alleviate the acute refugee crisis in Syria and other countries.

Syria’s civil war is the worst humanitarian crisis in recent times. Half the country’s population (before the war) which is more than 12 million people have been slaughtered or forced to flee their homes – with more than 4 million people fleeing to Syria’s neighbouring countries Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Egypt.

“MICPA Foundation founder Fr. Emmanuel Edeh, through the Director of Public Relations, of the organization, Mr. Martin Anagboso, who visited the Norwegian Red Cross on his behalf, stressed the need for all able individuals and organization to rally round to support Syrians at these distressing moments. He also highlighted that the choice of the organization to partner with the Norwegian Red Cross is due to their proactive international relief efforts in Syria and its neighbouring countries.

He also called on world leaders to amplify their effort to end the situation in Syria, he also prayed for the Syria and the middle-east that God will grant them peace.

Speaking after receiving the donation cheque, Norwegian Red Cross president Sven Mollekleiv said that this support will save many lives and that the money will be put to use to further their international relief efforts from Syria to Norway. He was also very pleased and surprised, as this donation came from an unlikely source – Africa, he thanked Fr. Edeh and the MICPA Foundation for this astonishing generosity and affirmed that the Norwegian Red Cross will be very pleased to work with MICPA Foundation and Fr. Edeh in the future.

While speaking Mr. Anagboso, said that MICPA Foundation is a major advocate of peace and charity and regardless of one’s creed, religion, gender or race, that we all deserve to be treated with respect and love, recalling the Edeh’s philosophy behind the foundation which states that “that man is “mmadi”; “good that is” having being created and cared for by God, every man deserves to be respected and dignified. Thus, it is the duty of man to reciprocate that care from God by caring for his fellow man without dehumanizing him or her”, elucidating that the reason MICPA Foundation was established is to bring succour and relief to people in countries and places where there is conflict or disaster.
